If God Were a Great Big Bear is a rhythmic meditation on the nature of God in the world. Through the eyes of a child, this picture book invites readers to imagine God creating each element of nature specifically for the benefit of the creatures and plants God lovingly made. If God were a mighty whale, she'd make vast, mysterious oceans, wouldn't she? If God were a wiggly worm, he'd make fallen leaves and rotting trees and rich earth, wouldn't he? Rushing streams, mountains full of caves, sun to warm flowers, trees blazing red and orange, and seas full of friends in every shape and size--God created them all!
